AMD's recent launch of its 690-series chipset is the company's first launch of an integrated chipset since it acquired graphics chip maker ATI and represents a new milestone for the company. DigiTimes had an opportunity to speak with Jochen Polster, AMD's sales and marketing vice president, Worldwide Infrastructure Partnerships, to find out more about results of the AMD-ATI merger and its effect on the relationship of the company with its business partners. Q: Motherboard makers reduced use of ATI-Intel chipsets during the AMD-ATI merger due to a risk that products from Intel and ATI would later no longer be compatible. Will AMD continue to develop chipsets for Intel platforms? What proportion of the graphics card market does AMD and ATI expect to gain in the future? DigiTimes
