Yesterday SPOnG claimed that the new portable console, which is going to be introduced at E3, will resemble the PlayStation Portable and sport a large LCD screen, analog controls, be based on the GameCube?s technology, and connect to Nintendo?s upcoming Revolution console.

Not happening. The DS just came out and they haven't even tapped into what it can do, so why would they release something better already...especially when their new console isn't even confirmed yet? The PSP is the most powerful handheld and even it can't match the GameCube, so why would Nintendo go that route after spending 15 years on simplicity?
I could see a console PDA of some kind (a la Dreamcast), or another GameBoy variation, but they're not releasing another new handheld this soon. The DS is still about as untapped as you can get and is essentially an N64 portable.
