If you're going to be a software counterfeiter, then please copy and illegally use Microsoft products.
The above plea isn't from a posting on a hacker forum. Rather, it's how Microsoft business group president Jeff Raikes feels about software counterfeiters. "If they're going to pirate somebody, we want it to be us rather than somebody else," Raikes said.
The remarks might seem surprising, coming from a senior executive at a software company that spends millions each year fighting software piracy and developing copyright protection technologies. InformationWeek has more.

lol, not surprising at all. M$ has relied on this for years to spread their shit. They know it solidifies them in the market. What a bunch of pro liars (as usual). |

Bill Gates himself at some point was quoted stating the same about piracy problem in China. If you can't fight it now, why not just let it turn into long term investment in the largest nation?.. |

im just wondering... if the MS Business group President has invited us to pirate the software and we get caught ... then are we doing anything illegal? He didnt say ... "you are welcome to try" ... Isnt it a bit like saying... you are welcome to take this CD from my house, then trying to arrest you for doing so. |

Piracy of Windows is vital for Microsoft domination. If they find a foolproof copy protection of their OS they are dead turkey compared to Linux. |
