Today NordicHarware.com has compared two GeForce FX 5900 graphics cards: the reference model straight from Nvidia and the Gainward FX PowerPack! Ultra/1200XP Golden Sample.
NV35 is a long card, very long to be exact. When I was about to install it the first time it did not fit, it was too large. After some rearrangement it fitted with only a millimeters margin. (The cards on the image are (top to bottom) NV35, NV30, R350 and NV34.) nVidia has said that the final PCB will be an inch shorter. In other words it will still be a little longer than an NV30. Hence to mount an NV30 or NV35 in an SFF case is not a smart idea.

the last nvidia card i had was a gainward gf4 ti4600 "golden sample", my friend and i both bought it at the same time this card was faulty out of the box for both of us so we sent it back and got another, guess what. yeah that was faulty too. So i ended up actually going to the warehouse where they came from and checked a couple more, guess what, faulty again. So we ended up getting leadtek gf4 ultratd a250 ones for 30 quid cheaper, in my veiw a better card anyway. My conclusion, not golden sample more like golden shower. |
